Your inability to control your drinking is not a moral failing. it does not make you a weakling or even a bad person. You have to accept the situation and get help. Look for africaretreatcentre.com/?utm_medium=so… and call us for help - Isharaza Muhwezi #NTVMen

People selling alcohol are making a profit at your expense. Governments around the world will not ban it because the manufacturers pay handsomely in taxes. It is all up to an individual to regulate themselves - @VBhangyi #NTVMen

There are people because they do not participate in the alcoholism, through them you get to see that there are people who do not live by the bottle and help you to see another world. If all your friends are senior drinkers, you are going to have problems - @cnsubugamugga #NTVMen

One of the biggest problems that young children are facing is absentee fathers. These fathers are absent because they are disengaged. Where are they engaged? In the bars drinking alcohol - Isharaza Mwebaze #NTVMen

When we say, "Alcohol Kills." We do not mean that one will take an overdose and drop dead. Alcohol kills in so many different ways but we have learnt how to mask it as a society. When people die of liver damage, we never say it was the alcohol - Isharaza Mwebaze #NTVMen

We need to also understand the physical damage alcohol does to you on top of the social damage. The older you get, the less your resistance to alcohol. It "downs' your performance as you live on - @PeterIgaga #NTVMen

We have different levels of tolerance for alcohol. Alcohol is not food. You do not have to take it. You do not have to take it to fit into a group. Some of your friends are seasoned drinkers and others, it is a routine. One has to be careful - Vanessio Bhangyi #NTVMen

When you feel you need to control your alcohol problem, that is an indication that it has gone overboard. Human beings usually know that something is off with them. They should listen to that inner voice that is telling them to stop drinking and change - @cnsubugamugga #NTVMen

Isharaza mentioned that at one point in his life, he became a bad citizen because of Alcohol. This is the point where one needs to draw the line and realise that alcohol has become a major problem - @VBhangyi #NTVMen

There is a point when alcohol consumers become alcohol dependent. Without a drink, someone cannot function - @VBhangyi That is using alcohol to solve the problem that it created - Isharaza Mwebabze #NTVMen

Before my 10 years of being sober, there were 20 years of drinking. I started as a social drinker. As time went by, things got out of control. At one point I started drinking not to feel anything and problems started piling - Isharaza Mwebaze #NTVMen

There has to be something severely wrong for someone to be looking for chemically induced happiness. Alcoholics need to be more conscious of themselves and find others to attain pleasure - Isharaza Mwebaze #NTVMen

Many times, alcoholics want to stop. But they find that they cannot. They are hooked and drink compulsively. People drink for the effect and not the taste. Unless somebody finds a substitute that gives them the same effect, they will never stop - Isharaza Mwebaze #NTVMen

I am an alcoholic. I have no taken a sip of alcohol in about 10 years but I am still an alcoholic. What that means is that I lack the ability to control how much I drink. This has nothing to do with ones's social status. It is a physiological thing - Isharaza Mwebaze #NTVMen

When we lose control over the alcohol, that is when it goes to the extreme. Alcoholism is a progressive illness (it is a disease). People do start out as social drinkers and end up in full-blown alcoholism - Isharaza Mwebaze #NTVMen

I have seen respectable men leave a home, go to work and return home looking like they had slept in a pigsty. These are drunkards who fall in ditches. The bottle eventually controls you and chains you up. How do you control the situation at that point? - @cnsubugamugga #NTVMen
