The Most Rev. Kevin W. Vann of the Diocese of Orange in California has completed his seventy-fifth year of age. Pursuant to Canon 401 §1 of the Code of Canon Law, he is requested to offer his resignation to the Supreme Pontiff. Bishop Vann was born in Springfield, Illinois in 1951 and ordained a priest for the Diocese of Springfield in 1981. In 2005, Pope Benedict XVI appointed him as the Coadjutor Bishop of Fort Worth. Pursuant to Canon 409 of the Code of Canon Law, he took possession of the See of Fort Worth following the death of Bishop Joseph P. Delaney. In 2012, Bishop Vann was appointed the fourth Bishop of Orange in California
