Just to throw some facts at you.
This is why Tino didn't start last night after playing 90 minutes on Saturday away to Chelsea in a hard fought 1-0 win
He will start on Sunday with out a doubt

The moment Trippier pulled back Raphinha was the point where NUFC resolve, spirit and belief dissolved.
Before that they competed. After it, they barely got a kick.
So many made poor individual errors. Have to be perfect defensively on nights like this. NUFC were dreadful.

@NUFCMurph @NUFCR2 It was hardly an embarrassment on a global scale. Reaching the last 16 of the CL is not embarrassing and never should be. We should be proud of how we performed in the CL and for 75% of the tie v Barca. It’s just a shame it ended the way it did

If 7-2 is a result to be proud of. What the fuck is the point in the club having any ambition? Happy to "tick along" as long as we dont get relegated. An embarrassment on the global scale. If you think anyone in that team is proud of their own performance too you need a wobble.

@ISimpson73 @BROWEA I’m not quite sure what you want with the CEO specifically Ian, he started the job after the season already kicked off. Sponsorships isn’t his job, moving players on and signing players will probably happen in that big window where players are moved on or sold mate

Sunderland away was one of them according to the vast majority of the fanbase on here. Now Sunderland at home is the next, there might be more later if we push for 7th

@DavyBaty81 Same thing applies to Tripps. Excellent leader for 4/5th choice fullback behind Hall/Tino and atleast one new fullback (who’d have to be able to play both sides if only 1).
Let him go, now we have to sign possibly three fullbacks in one window.

Okay great let’s let Schar go and sell Burn. Great, now we need to sign three first team CBs in one summer. Half the budget gone. Nothing to spend elsewhere.
Thiaw and Botman + 1 new CB lead the way with Schar and Burn kept on as depth.

Matches like this make u realise that we can’t have time for sentiment when it comes to players, if we want to move up a level you can’t give the likes of trippier and schar new deals, served us well, move on and buy some real quality, same with burn next summer when his deals up

@lukkin_ahh @bazza080808 And that’s looking at it logically before even taking into consideration fatigue, fitness, injuries etc. Botman has been a liability with his availability so logically he has to be protected. Likewise Tino has to be protected, ideally not starting him back to back straight away

@lukkin_ahh @bazza080808 It’s not as black and white as you’re putting it mate, Barca being the bigger game doesn’t automatically mean we field our best 11. Logic tells you there’s a finer split, most of your best 11 but not all, so that said players can still perform at best in the next big game
