تم عقد الاجتماع الأول للمجلس الاستشاري لكلية الطب والعلوم الصحية برئاسة البروفيسور محمد الشافعي، عميد الكلية، وبحضور رئيس الجامعة الوطنية المكرم الدكتور علي البيماني، ونائب رئيس الجامعة الدكتور سالم العريمي، إلى جانب أعضاء المجلس الكرام. واستُهل الاجتماع بعرضٍ تعريفي شامل عن الكلية، استعرض أبرز إنجازاتها خلال الفترة الماضية، وسلّط الضوء على رؤيتها وتوجهاتها الاستراتيجية وخططها المستقبلية في مجالات التعليم والبحث العلمي وخدمة المجتمع. كما تضمن الاجتماع جولة تعريفية في مرافق الكلية، اطّلع خلالها أعضاء المجلس على الإمكانات والتجهيزات الأكاديمية والتعليمية، بما يعكس مستوى التطور الذي تشهده الكلية ودورها في دعم وتعزيز العملية التعليمية.

The CoMHS represented by Department of Pediatrics and MD6 students, in collaboration with Sohar Hospital, organized a two-day tobacco awareness program for male and female school teachers in Sohar on 14 and 16 April 2026. The program aimed to equip educators with evidence-based strategies to integrate tobacco control and prevention into their teaching, empowering them to promote a healthier, tobacco-free Oman.

#صحية_شمال_الباطنة #صحة_رائدة_مستدامة_للجميع @OmaniMOH شاركت المديرية ممثلة بمختبرات الرعاية الصحية الأولية، في فعالية يوم المختبرات الطبية الحيوية (BMS EXPO 2026) التي نظمتها كلية الطب والعلوم الصحية بالجامعة الوطنية للعلوم والتكنولوجيا بصحار، وتأتي هذه المشاركة ضمن الجهود المستمرة لقسم المختبرات بالمحافظة لتعزيز الشراكة مع المؤسسات الأكاديمية ورفع مستوى الوعي الصحي لدى المجتمع بدور التشخيص المخبري. وقد استهلت الفعالية بتكريم فريق المختبرات في حفل الافتتاح تقديراً لمشاركتهم في المعرض المصاحب، حيث استعرض الركن تفاصيل البرنامج الوطني "افحص واطمئن" تحت إشراف وتنظيم رويدة البلوشية مشرفة قسم المختبرات بالمحافظة. وشهد الركن خلال فعاليات الحفل زيارة داعمة من الدكتور حسن البلوشي المدير العام، والدكتور يوسف الكعبي مدير دائرة الخدمات الصحية والبرامج، للاطلاع على جهود الفريق ومشاركتهم. وتوجت المشاركة بتحقيق المركز الثاني في مسابقة "حديث الثلاث دقائق" (Three minute talk) عن العرض العلمي لبرنامج "افحص واطمئن" المقدم باللغة الإنجليزية، وسط إشادة واسعة بجودة الكفاءات الفنية للمديرية."

A highlight of the event was the interactive simulation sessions organized by the Simulation and Clinical Skills Lab, where participants were divided into groups to manage realistic clinical scenarios, including respiratory distress and aggressive toxic patients. These sessions enhanced critical thinking, teamwork, and clinical decision-making skills. The course concluded with closing remarks and certificate distribution, marking a successful educational initiative aimed at strengthening competencies in toxicology and emergency care.

The Simulation and Clinical Skills Lab at National University – College of Medicine and Health Sciences successfully conducted a Fundamentals of Toxicology course today, April 11, 2026, in Sohar, bringing together healthcare students and professionals for an engaging day of learning and hands-on training. The course was led by Dr. Hassan Al Balushi and Dr. Fatma Al Balushi, who delivered a series of expert-led sessions covering key topics such as the assessment of poisoned patients, toxidrome recognition, decontamination principles, envenomation, and common toxic exposures including opioids and paracetamol. Participants also explored high-risk ECG patterns associated with poisoning and household toxic hazards.

The Medical Education Unit of COMHS organised the Actor Doctor Workshop using theatre to help medical students practice empathy, cultural sensitivity, and real-life communication with patients. Sometimes, learning to care starts with learning to act — not as actors, but as more understanding human beings. Thank you to our facilitator, Mr. Omair Anwar (Oman Theatre Society), the Health Humanities team from COMHS, and our enthusiastic students who brought these stories to life.

مثّلت كلية الطب والعلوم الصحية بالجامعة الوطنية من خلال طلابها، وقد تأهلت بنجاح ضمن أفضل ٦ فرق من أصل ٢٦ فريقًا إلى نهائيات بطولة المناظرات الوطنية (الجولة الأولى)، التي أُقيمت يوم السبت، ٤ أبريل ٢٠٢٦. The CoMHS represented by its students, has successfully qualified among the top 6 out of 26 teams for the finals of the National Debating Championship (Round 1), held on Saturday, April 4, 2026.

The College of Medicine and Health Sciences at National University successfully organized an Airway Management Course on April 3, 2026. The course was primarily organized by the Simulation and Clinical Skills Lab at the College of Medicine, aiming to enhance participants’ clinical skills and knowledge in airway care. The event commenced with participant registration, followed by a welcome and introductory session led by Dr. Ahmed Al Saidi. The course covered a range of essential topics, including airway anatomy, basic airway assessment, simple airway maneuvers, and the use of airway adjuncts. Participants were also trained in oxygen delivery systems, bag-mask ventilation, intubation techniques, and post-intubation care. An interactive Q&A session allowed attendees to clarify concepts and engage directly with the instructor. After a short break, the program continued with hands-on skills stations, where participants rotated through practical sessions. These stations focused on airway positioning, the use of adjuncts (OPA/NPA), bag-mask ventilation, and intubation procedures under expert supervision. Overall, the course provided a comprehensive blend of theoretical knowledge and practical training, contributing significantly to the development of essential clinical competencies among participants.

توقيع اتفاقية لمدة 20 عامًا بين الجامعة الوطنية ووزارة الصحة في 25 فبراير 2026، وقّعت الجامعة الوطنية – كلية الطب والعلوم الصحية اتفاقية تدريب سريري لمدة عشرين عامًا مع وزارة الصحة. تمنح هذه الشراكة الجامعة أولوية الاستخدام للمستشفيات والمراكز الصحية الرئيسة في شمالي وجنوبي الباطنة، إضافةً إلى مستشفى عبري ومستشفى البريمي ومستشفى المسرة، بما يضمن مسارات تدريب سريري قوية ومستدامة لطلبتنا. كما تتيح الاتفاقية لطلبة الكلية إجراء الاختيارات (Electives)والتدريب الرصدي في جميع مستشفيات ومراكز وزارة الصحة في مختلف محافظات عُمان، مما يوسّع فرصهم التعليمية ويعزّز خبراتهم السريرية. إنه إنجاز نفخر به في الجامعة الوطنية، وخطوة مهمة نحو تعزيز مستقبل تعليم المهن الصحية في السلطنة.

NU signs 20‑year clinical training agreement with the Ministry of Health! A major milestone for our College of Medicine & Health Sciences. The new agreement grants NU priority access to key hospitals in North & South Al Batinah, plus Ibri, Buraimi, and Al‑Masarra Hospitals—strengthening long‑term clinical training for our students. It also opens doors for electives and observational training across all MoH hospitals and health centres nationwide. A proud step forward for NU and the future of Health Professions Education in Oman.
