Parents, if your child finds it difficult to open up to you, here are some things you could say that might help: 1/ You can talk to me, I’m here for you. 2/ If you need to talk to someone else, that’s okay too. 3/ If you talk to me about what is worrying you, I can do my best to help. 4/ Even if I don’t understand, know that I want to. 5/ We’re going to get through this together. You could also see whether other forms of communication like writing a letter or texting would make it easier for your child to let you know what’s going on. Remember that you know your child. You can tell when it isn't the right time or they aren’t in the mood to talk.

This worrying report shows that a third of councils expect fewer places SEND nursery places to be available from April. It is imperative that government and local authorities work with child care providers to ensure that children with SEND needs get the access they need.

We welcome the focus on child health inequalities in the Welsh Government’s Child Poverty Strategy 2024. But the strategy comes up short as it lacks clear targets and a way to monitor the strategy’s delivery robustly and transparently. (1/2)

Why is the C-POS study important? A systematic review led by @LucyCoombes7 found there is currently no 'ideal' outcome measure for use in paediatric palliative care. The C-POS study aims to develop the first valid tool for use in the UK. Full article: doi.org/10.1177/026921…
