Huntley graduate Brayden Bakes, despite three shoulder surgeries, realized a life-long dream last weekend when he was selected in the 13th round of the MLB draft by the Philadelphia Phillies. "I was just hoping I'd get my name called."

Jacobs thrower Carly Uehlein, a two-time IHSA state medalist in discus and a two-time state qualifier in shot put, has signed to continue her track and field career at Cincinnati. As a senior, Uehlein won sectional titles in both shot and discus.
