New Waverly ISD

Please see the attached information regarding our make up day required by the state. We will have a full day of school with students on FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 27, 2026. Details and information are contained in the letter attached to Live Feed and social media.

New Waverly ISD will reopen Tuesday, Jan. 27 @ regular school time. After consulting with county officials, roads should be good, though there can always be a location or two that remains slick so please be vigilant. It will be very cold, however, so bundle up!

Good afternoon. New Waverly ISD will be closed Monday. Our plan was monitor over the weekend but due to the dangers already seen north of us, we feel it is better to let everyone know today. We plan to be back Tuesday . Please stay safe during this event.

New Waverly PTO is hosting a Mother & Son Dodgeball and Movie Night this Friday, January 9th from 5:30pm - 8:00pm at the New Waverly Elementary Cafeteria. Please see attached flyer for additional information.

This morning Bus 77 was involved in minor accident. No students were hurt and only a few students were still on the bus. Parents of those students are being directly contacted. NWISD driver was not at fault and thankfully, no one was hurt and even bus damage was minimal.

We briefly had all campuses shelter in place this afternoon due to a gas leak in town. Out of abundance of caution we held students inside until given the all clear by fire department and other officials. Dismissal and activities have been cleared to resume. Expect delays on 75
