Captured this morning: a fogbow at the NWS office. Traditional rainbows are formed by large raindrops that refract light into a spectrum. Fogbows are created by tiny water droplets. Because the droplets are so small, light undergoes diffraction rather than refraction. #stxwx

The heat continues to build as we head toward the weekend. We are looking at sunny to partly cloudy skies with highs reaching the upper 90s by Friday! ☀️ Then, cooler this weekend. Due to the dry and warm conditions, Elevated Fire Weather conditions continue through Friday.

Get ready for a dry and warm Tuesday! We’re looking at decreasing clouds throughout the day with light south/southeast winds. Temperatures will be climbing into the 80s and 90s across the region.

South Texas will see increasing clouds overnight with temperatures staying quite comfortable. Accompanied by light southeasterly winds with slightly breezy conditions over the Brush Country.

Patchy fog across area beaches should burn off by late morning. Leading to another great beach day today with mostly sunny skies. Highs will be in the mid 70s with a LOW risk of rip currents. Remember, LOW risk does not mean NO risk; please use caution if entering the waters.

Patchy fog can catch any experienced driver off guard. It's important to be prepared for such occasions such as slowing down, driving with your low-beams, and giving yourself plenty of space and time.

Relative humidity as low as 15-25%, SE winds gusting to 25 mph, and critically dry fuels will lead to elevated fire weather conditions again this afternoon across the inland Coastal Plains/Brush Country, including Live Oak, Jim Wells, Duval, McMullen, La Salle, and Webb counties.
