Hot today with smoke from wildfires over central Canada starting to stream in aloft. The smoke will be thicker and lower in the atmosphere over #PAwx on Wed and Thurs. This could serve to keep the high temperatures a degree or two cooler than without the smoke present.

315PM EDT 7/11/2026: Storms continue to pop up and get stronger this afternoon. The storm moving south through Pottsville is making some gusty winds. The Lower Susq Valley is the most likely place for heavy rain and high wind gusts into the evening.

The latest update on severe wind/hail potential for today includes an upgrade to a marginal risk for the SE (up from the general thunderstorms category). Cells are already starting up in the east (Poconos and middle Susq valley). Expect these cells to be just the first few.

As a front drifts southward today, it will spur on another round of afternoon convection, mainly in southern and eastern PA. Heavy rain may lead to isolated flooding, but limited storm coverage should preclude a widespread risk. Quieter weather looks to begin Sunday #Pawx
