Recent rainfall has helped improve drought conditions in portions of East Texas, but drought conditions are present in 80% of our region. Extreme to exceptional drought conditions persist across much of the Big Bend and South and Central Texas. #txdrought #nmdrought #codrought

Taking a look at statewide reservoir levels, rainfall in March produced enough runoff to bring levels slightly above levels from one month ago. As has been the case for some time, western and southern reservoirs remain in need of recharge. #txreservoirs

The Rio Grande River headwaters in CO saw some much needed snowfall last week. In terms of observed SWE at SNOTEL stations in this plot, we are at the 8th percentile of the 1991-2020 climatology (well below normal) and are slightly lower than the SWE on this date in 2018. #cowx
