@shaunlabrie @CompulsionGames @trexbeverly That’s pretty daring! I hired a guide to teach me gator safety. He said, “Rule #1, they may look cuddly but they ain’t your friend. Do not play with these ugly puppies.” Rule #2 was “Have fun! The swamps great!” 😜

To capture the authentic nature sounds of our various regions, we sent field recordists Andy Martin (@NWSoundscapes) and Thomas Rex Beverly (@trexbeverly) into the forests, mountains, hills, and swamps to record the animals, insects, and ambient sounds of the Southern wilderness!

@TimNielsen Ann was the first person I ever met who truly exemplified awe about sound and nature. I’ll never forget the love she exuded of the animals she recorded.

I've just read on Facebook that Ann Kroeber has passed away, on July 13. Along with her husband, Alan Splet, Ann recorded so many amazing sounds, and worked on such wonderful films. I knew her a bit over the years, and her drive and fascination with sound never waned. RIP Ann.

Excited to say that I was able to contribute to @CompulsionGames ' #SouthOfMidnight by being present in deep swamplands of Louisiana throughout 2022, recording ambiences, insects, frogs, birds and more. Really looking forward to hearing it all come together in 2025!
