Hey @vlex, did you know that you are in violation of the CAN SPAM Act? Kinda wild given that you are . . . **checks notes** . . . a legal research company. The CAN SPAM act clearly requires you allow users to opt out in simplified manner. Specifically, it prohibits a sender from requiring that "any recipient . . . provide any information other than the recipient's electronic mail address and opt-out preferences, or take any other steps except sending a reply electronic mail message or visiting a single Internet Web page, in order to" opt out of future messages. 16 CFR § 316.5. And yet, your unsubscribe button leads me to a page that forces me to login (which I don't have a direct account to do) or to enter details of a third party login. Feel free to pay me a bounty for alerting you to this basic legal knowledge that your current chief counsel clearly lacks. Thanks.

🧵 Big step forward in yesterday’s SEC token taxonomy guidance. Clear statement: ALGO is not a security. And it doesn’t matter where it appears. The substance is what counts. And to all those freaking out that AlGO was “only” mentioned in a footnote, a careful read of the guidance clearly shows that the footnote isn’t burying ALGO - it’s broadening the rule: The SEC used futures-linked tokens as examples in the body of the text, but made clear that’s not the test. That’s exactly where ALGO comes in 👇 ALGO is cited to show a token can be a digital commodity without underlying a futures contract. In other words: •Commodity status ≠ dependent on futures markets •ALGO qualifies on its own merits That’s a substance-based classification. And importantly, it’s stronger. And that’s exactly why the placement doesn’t diminish the impact. It actually clarifies and strengthens the reasoning behind the classification. @AlgoFoundation #algo #algofam
