Amazon has no idea how to play the game in our court. They don’t even know where to stow the packages. They are nothing without the workers✊ $3 more!

But it’s not. By facing our fear and walking off the job, we showed Amazon that the arena is the shop floor. And that our union’s power lies in our hands

At 4:28am at ZYO1, our hearts were POUNDING. With all our managers called in to stop us, we felt like we were going to puke. But then we did it. We stopped the belt, chanted, & walked out to cheers of workers from DBK1 and the community. It felt like we’d won a championship game

Last night Amazon workers in New York City walked off the job demanding a 3 dollar an hour raise and a 20 minute rest break. Here an Amazon worker talks about the walkout and how she was inspired by the actions in Chicavk.#Amazon #AmazonWalkout @NYCAmazonians @AUchicagoland

NEW: Amazon warehouse workers staged coordinated work stoppages at multiple warehouses in NYC & Washington DC this morning for $3 an hour raises, in 1 case literally turning off the conveyor belt & leaving. I spoke to workers about why they're striking. vice.com/en/article/88g…

This morning, in the first multi-state walkout in the US, over 60 workers in 3 delivery stations walked out. Amazonians United workers in ZYO1 and DBK1 in New York City and DMD9 in Maryland showed what solidarity looks like. We demand a $3 raise!

We stand in solidarity with the Amazon workers who were recently arrested in Staten Island. Amazon is afraid of what we can accomplish when we come together to fight for change. They want to use the police to intimidate us. It won’t work! vice.com/en/article/3ab…

Yesterday we stood together as Chicagoland Amazon workers at DLN2 in Cicero and DIL3 in Gage Park to execute the first multi-site work stoppage at Amazon in the US. We will continue growing in number and solidarity within our facility and between facilities! (1/)

Scoop: Hundreds of Amazon warehouse workers are organizing to demand cell phone access at work in the aftermath of a warehouse collapse in Illinois that killed 6 workers. “Taking our phones away isn’t about safety; it’s about controlling us.” vice.com/en/article/z3n…

Rest in power to our coworkers who lost their lives in the Midwest storms. We know this isn’t a coincidence— over and over again, Amazon risks our lives by knowingly having us work during extreme weather. You’re in our hearts as we fight for an Amazon the respects workers’ lives.

.@NYCAmazonians, after this letter came out, HR changed its policy about workers getting paid during extreme snow (this was during polar vortex, I believe). Might be worth taking to @AwoodMpls about this.

Solidarity w NYC Amazon workers who risked their lives to go to work only to turned away without full shift pay. This is exactly why over 8,700 corporate Amazon workers signed @AMZNforClimate’s letter asking for fair treatment during climate disruptions: …onemployees4climatejustice.medium.com/public-letter-…

NYC residents have been getting these emergency alerts since 7:30pm. The situation is“life-threatening” and we’re being told not to travel unless fleeing or given an evacuation order. And what does Amazon do? Require us to report to work for our 10:00pm shift.

The cost of getting home on Lyft or Uber (the only option for most)was expensive! Over $100 for some of us. We almost ended up paying more to come into work than to stay home, but we were able to push Amazon into covering the cost of rides! Working class power for the win!

Now after risking our lives to get here, they have no more work for us because, surprise, the roads flooded, bridges and tunnels closed, and the trucks couldn’t get in. So now they’re asking us to go home without being paid for a full shift.
