That's kinda why I'm hesitant about messing with the matchups, when it's about someone else defending Oubre, whether it's a cross-match or what you explained

Sixers have been forced to play their starters 40 minutes per game against Boston because their bench is so terrible. They are not made to make a run.

Last time the Knicks played the healthy Sixers they smashed the button on weaking and ice coverage vs their handlers. The best way to beat speed is to know where it's going

@NYKnicks04 Yeah Maxey is different fr. Tough matchup for anyone. Hard to hate too tbh lol even being a Sixer. He’s nice af but I love that mentality from you. Mikal has had a tough year, but he can win us this series by containing Maxey. Get it done!

I honestly don’t think anyone will be able to guard Maxey well. I don’t think it’s worth throwing OG on him. I’d rather have him on PG or even Oubre as a roamer
Also think OG should guard Embiid some possessions, don’t think it would look bad at all tbh

@NYKnicks04 @BenRitholtzNBA I just think OG is so good defensively that he’d adjust to the quickness discrepancy. I worry about Mikal on him… maxey is the kinda player he seems to struggle with. Agree on deuce and Alvarado but outta the starting 5 I think OG gives them the best chance of slowing him down

@NYsports1810 Oh it worries me too lmao but like I said I don’t think we have anyone to really stop him. Mikal is long and maybe with his lack of offensive involvement he can fully lock in defensively🤷♂️

@NYKnicks04 Tbh good call on OG guarding Embiid. He played him really well two playoffs ago when Mitch got hurt. And i do hear you tho. OGs offense has been such a huge need that you don’t want him spending too much energy on maxey defensively but again, Mikal matchup really worries me lol

@NYK_Life11 I don’t see a world where Embiid guards KAT. 2nd option is much more likely. We saw them leave Hart open from three in 2024
Even though it didn’t work, I don’t think they’ll change that plan especially with us now having KAT
