Highlight from the second day of the AI in Healthcare Research & Ideation Workshop at @NYUAbuDhabi.

Panelists Mariam Al Harbi, Narges Razavian, Cian Hughes, and Arijit Patra discuss with host Farah Shamout the need for researchers to consider the full pathway from model development to deployment, focusing on the goal of an actionable clinical target.

Panelists Louis Atallah, Shadab Khan, and Mohammad Yaqub with host Ghadeer Ghosheh consider the challenges of taking research to industry; such as regulatory compliance, generalization and validation in commercial setting, and engagement from clinicians.

“How do I know a patient like me has been in the training data?” Marzyeh Ghassemi of MIT highlights unexpected sources of bias in data, and emphasizes the need to make sure all patients are represented fairly.
