We urgently need O- blood. This is the universal blood type, meaning it can be given to anyone in an emergency. Please donate at a donor centre or mobile drive near you so we can meet increased demand.

Today is World Blood Donor Day and we’re saying thank you to the 120,000-strong everyday people who selflessly give blood and plasma. Your donations are an act of aroha that is life changing to the 30,000 patients in NZ who rely on blood and blood products each year.

Last Thursday, we started operating our weekly five-day blood and plasma mobile drive at 289 Lincoln Road in Henderson. New Lynn resident Jacqui Stringer had the distinction of being the first donor through the door, rolling up her sleeve and giving plasma.
