@NZMSA 3/3 You rightly note that not all cases are picked up at birth. Current best estimates of the true rate of infants at risk of surgical intervention are 100 fold lower at about 0.015% (Sax 2002; How common is intersex?). This has been accepted by the author of the 1.7% figure.
