February 1965, Leander-class frigate HMNZS Waikato launched. Built by Harland & Wolff Ltd, Belfast, Waikato commissioned into #NZNavy Sept 1966. She was decommissioned 3 July 1998 then sold to a private individual who sunk the ship to create an artificial reef off Northland.
