Nacogdoches High School held a send-off Friday morning for the Lady Dragons Courtney Claude who will compete Saturday in the Texas state powerlifting meet in Edinburg. Let’s go Courtney!

Just a friendly reminder that Nacogdoches ISD will conduct an evacuation and reunification drill Friday for Raguet Elementary. During the drill, you will see buses carrying students and staff to and from the reunification location while accompanied by emergency personnel.

Tammara Marion has been named Head Girls Basketball Coach for Nacogdoches High School after serving four years as an assistant. Marion has 11 years of coaching experience, including as head coach and athletic coordinator at Madison High School. nacisd.org/article/2770442

NISD Director of Safety and Security Susan De La Rosa and Chief of Police Joel Barton visited Fredonia Rotary Tuesday, covering practices NISD uses in its safety plan. They also described an evacuation and reunification drill planned Friday for students at Raguet Elementary.

Nacogdoches ISD's Custodial Department attended a cleaning and disinfecting basics workshop March 6 at the district's Professional Development Center. The training was conducted by Amy Rushing of Winders' Sales and Services.

NHS One-Act Play is taking its production of “Picnic on the Battlefield” to the district competition March 17. Nacogdoches fans can see performances at the NHS auditorium March 19-21. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the show starts at 7. Tickets are $5. nacisd.org/article/2768959

Four Nacogdoches High School art students scored 4 out of 4 at the Texas Art Educators Association contest held Feb. 14 at Pine Tree High School. The students earned medals for their submissions to the regional competition. nacisd.org/article/2751195

Students from Thomas J. Rusk Elementary helped ring the bell at the Old University Building 190 times today in honor of Texas Independence Day! The ceremony was hosted by the Stone Fort Chapter of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas.
