Alexandra Substation, Kite Distributor: 81% of power supply has been restored so far. The day shift team will continue inspecting the overhead lines.
This affects customers from 22nd to 16th Avenue between London Rd and Roosevelt Street.

Outage Update - Inner City SDC
9 April 2026
Observatory Substation - Power is 96% restored to customers Kensington, Observatory, Bezuidenhout Valley, Bruma, Cyrildene, De Wetshof and surroundings. The outage was caused by an excessive amount of moisture in the equipment that led to a flashover. The team will return to site to continue working on full restoration during dayshift tomorrow.
