@EliotClough If a player pulls that arm back to punch…don’t give a fuc if he’s lying and saying he’s going for the ball. Asshat got caught and should have gotten tossed.

@EliotClough What was Golden upset about ? The rule book clearly states if a player throws a punch it is an automatic ejection , it doesnn’t matter if Folgueiras only hit Condon on the arm and wrist, he threw the punch he should have been gone , of course , Folgueiras scored the winning goal!

Texas Tech loses at home to TCU, dropping a half game behind Houston for the two seed in the Big 12 Tournament. Can we stop hearing about how elite their résumé is?

Where are the students who think they benefited from Chromebooks and iPads in school? Where are the teachers who believe that ed tech greatly improved education? Let's get this stuff out of elementary schools by September. Older grades will be harder, but let's start with K-5.
Auron MacIntyre@AuronMacintyre

I taught during the rise of Chromebooks in classrooms and it was a nightmare Kids cheating rampantly, Googling every single fact, refusing to read assuming that copy and pasting things from Wikipedia counted as an answer Students were regularly able to circumvent controls to watch porn, play video games, and watch movies or YouTube in class Students used shared Google Docs to gossip, bully each other, and plan crime (not joking) Everyone knew it was a disaster but the district refused to stop using them because “this is the future, kids need to learn computers”, plus massive amounts of funding were tied to them Mandatory testing was done on the computers and they were used for IEP accommodations so they were unavoidable Eventually, things got so bad that despite vigorous protests from parents and administrators, I went almost entirely analog, requiring students only use paper and textbook except for state mandated tests That worked really well until COVID, where remote learning once again became mandatory Even after the return to classrooms administration required everything be accessible online at all times, so there was no longer any option to stop the digital distractions A true nightmare for teachers and a system that has radically failed students

For a long time, I thought I understood resilience. I had talked about it. Taught it. Encouraged others to live it. But everything changed when I found myself needing to depend on it to get through challenges and adversity I had never faced before. After being shot at Olathe East, resilience was no longer something I observed from a distance. It became something I had to lean on daily. Not the polished version. Not the inspirational quote version. The real version. The version where sleep is hard. Where fear lingers. Where healing feels uneven. Where you question your identity. Where you wonder who you are now. For a long time, I thought resilience meant coming out stronger, better, more put together. But that has not been my experience. For me, resilience has meant refusing to stay stuck. It has meant taking the next step forward even when I did not feel ready. It has meant going to therapy. Having hard conversations. Redefining leadership. Leaving a career I loved. Starting over. Choosing presence with my family. Choosing peace. And choosing to keep showing up. Being invited to speak at the 2026 Resiliency Conference hosted by Johnson County Mental Health Center is deeply meaningful to me. It represents something bigger than one story. It represents a community that is willing to talk about the hard things. A community that believes healing is possible. A community that understands leaders struggle too. Resilience is not a finish line. It is a daily practice. I am still practicing. If you are walking your own road of healing, I hope you know this: you do not have to look strong to be strong. Sometimes resilience is simply taking the next step toward peace and toward what matters most. The conference will be held on Friday, May 1, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM at Resurrection, A United Methodist Church in Leawood, Kansas. It is open to individuals with lived experience, supportive loved ones, and community members. If this message resonates with you, I would be honored to see you there. As a father of two girls my theory is: 1. Difficulty - basketball is not easy for young players to learn. Need both hand and feet coordination. 2. Club Sports - soccer, softball teams never stop playing all year long. 3. Parents don’t push Kids to stick it out. So if they don’t have immediate success, that’s it. Every community is different, but that is what I see.
William Payne@TweetsbyCoachP

Why do you believe we are seeing such a steep decline in girls high school basketball participation? Non-refutable data from the NFHS says that participation has dropped 21% over the last 25 years. But why? What is your take on the why when the highest levels of the sport have never been more popular.
