Sad news. I did my first grad rotation in Larry's lab. Larry was the father of the voltage sensitive dye. Although voltage sensors still havent had the impact that Ca sensors, they were inspirational.

We are sad to report that Dr. Lawrence Cohen passed away on April 19th. Larry was a scientific pioneer, an outstanding mentor and a much-admired member of @AchemsInfo and the neuroscience community. We hope to further honor him after processing this unexpected and sad news.
