I’m a big believer in PR agencies. Great ones are incredibly valuable and some of the best comms work in the world comes from them. But I also have a client where we replaced an entire agency team with one early-career, high-performing IC. The results have been phenomenal. Managing an agency takes real time from founders and execs. Sometimes the better move is hiring one hungry, embedded comms operator and letting them run. More companies that value storytelling should consider this, instead of defaulting to hiring an agency.
