He inspected various sections of the station, including the reception, women’s help desk, writer section, lock-up, and SHO’s room. He thoroughly examined case registrations, records, and the progress of investigations, and instructed that there should be no negligence in investigations and that action must be taken in accordance with the law to ensure punishment for the accused. He advised village police officers to stay connected with the public, work towards crime control, and respond promptly to complaints. He also directed that special measures be taken to maintain law and order. He instructed that there should be immediate response to Dial 100 calls, strengthening of patrolling, surveillance on rowdy-sheeters, and focus on the installation of CCTV cameras. He emphasized conducting cybercrime awareness programs and taking strict action against crimes such as ganja trafficking, illegal sand transport, PDS rice smuggling, and gambling. District Crime Review Meeting with Police Officers District SP shri Sharath Chandra Pawar, IPS directed police officials to focus on effective crime control and ensure quick response to public grievances. A monthly crime review meeting was held on Wednesday at the District Police Office where the SP sir reviewed the status of crimes, pending cases, investigation progress, and measures being taken to secure convictions in courts. The SP sir instructed officers to respond immediately to Dial 100 calls and provide prompt assistance to victims and emphasized that police must act quickly on public complaints and work transparently to strengthen public trust. Special focus was placed on controlling organized crimes, strengthening surveillance, and expanding the installation of CCTV cameras as they play a key role in crime detection and investigation. The SP sir also directed officers to speed up investigations and file charge sheets on time in POCSO, grave, non-grave, and SC/ST Atrocity cases. SP sir stressed giving top priority to the safety of women and children, ensuring they receive timely and quality police services. To prevent road accidents, strict enforcement of traffic rules and coordination with other departments was advised. The SP sir also instructed police to intensify day and night patrolling to prevent thefts and keep strict surveillance on rowdy sheeters, suspects, and habitual offenders. On this occasion, the SP formally inaugurated the stall by cutting the ribbon and personally served cool drinking water from earthen pots to the public. He stated that the stall was arranged with the intention of providing relief to people traveling on roads during the summer, including workers, auto drivers, motorists, and pedestrians, so that they do not suffer due to the intense heat. The SP advised the public to take necessary precautions during summer, as high temperatures may lead to health issues such as dehydration. Free Eye Check-ups for Drivers Under “Arrive Alive” Programme – Massive Road Safety Awareness Drive in Haliya With an aim to reduce road accidents and ensure safer travel, the District Police organized the “Arrive Alive” road safety programme at Haliya town. As part of the initiative, free eye screening camps were conducted for auto, bus, lorry and other vehicle drivers. Nagarjunasagar MLA Jaiveer Reddy and District SP shri Sharath Chandra Pawar inaugurated the programme. Addressing the gathering, SP shri Sharath Chandra Pawar stated that a majority of road accidents in the district occur due to driver negligence, over-speeding, drunk driving, mobile phone usage while driving, and ignoring vision-related issues. SP sir emphasized that poor eyesight, especially during night driving, significantly increases accident risks, and advised drivers to undergo regular eye examinations. As part of the “Arrive Alive” road safety initiative, the Telangana Police organized a large-scale awareness program on road safety in the limits of Madugulapally Police Station. A special free eye medical camp for drivers was conducted to promote safer driving practices. District SP Inspects Intermediate Examination Centre; Tight Security in Place. District Superintendent of Police Sharath Chandra Pawar, IPS, conducted a surprise inspection at Pragathi Junior College examination centre in the town to review arrangements for the Intermediate Public Examinations scheduled from February 25 to March 18, 2026. The SP sir examined security arrangements, CCTV surveillance, and police deployment at the centre, directing officials to ensure smooth and transparent conduct of examinations without any untoward incidents. SP sir stated that Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (equivalent to Section 144) has been enforced around all examination centres. Gathering of people near centres is strictly prohibited. All Xerox and internet centres in the vicinity will remain closed during examination hours. The SP sir also clarified that mobile phones, smart watches, Bluetooth devices, and other electronic gadgets are strictly banned inside examination centres. Road Safety is Everyone’s Responsibility – District SP shri Sharath Chandra Pawar, IPS As part of the “Arrive Alive” road safety initiative, an awareness program on prevention of road accidents was conducted at Gurrrampodu Mandal Centre under the supervision of the Nalgonda District Police. District SP shri Sharath Chandra Pawar, IPS, attended the program as the chief guest and emphasized that most road accidents occur due to negligence, overspeeding, and lack of awareness about traffic rules. SP sir urged citizens to strictly follow traffic regulations and make it a habit to wear helmets and seat belts. The SP sir highlighted that rash driving among youth is leading to tragic loss of lives and advised parents to educate their children about road safety and warned that strict legal action would be taken against those driving under the influence of alcohol. Motorists were also advised to carry valid vehicle documents, avoid triple riding, and refrain from using mobile phones while driving. Municipal Elections Proceed Peacefully in Nalgonda District. The municipal election process is continuing peacefully across Nalgonda district. District Superintendent of Police (SP) Sharath Chandra Pawar, IPS, inspected the Model Polling Station at Boyawada in Nalgonda town. Elaborate security arrangements have been made to prevent any untoward incidents at polling centres. Section 163 BNSS (prohibitory orders under Section 144) has been imposed in the vicinity of polling stations. Assembly of five or more persons within polling areas is strictly prohibited. The SP sir warned that strict action will be taken against anyone attempting to disrupt polling or disturb law and order. Sensitive polling stations are guarded by Reserve Police, Civil Police, Striking Forces, and Special Teams to ensure tight security. Nalgonda: Tight Security and Extensive Checks Ahead of Municipal Elections In view of the Nalgonda Municipal Corporation elections, the district police have intensified naka bandi and conducted extensive checks across the district to ensure peaceful and fair polling. Under the direct supervision of District Superintendent of Police Sharat Chandra Pawar, IPS, police seized 4.9 kg of silver, 24 beer bottles, 64 sarees, and other prohibited items being transported illegally. Cases have been registered and strict legal action is being taken against the offenders. The SP sir personally inspected bus stands, railway stations, lodges, hotels, crowded areas, major junctions, and check posts, and issued clear instructions to officers on duty. SP sir stated that the silent period is being strictly enforced and warned that any violation, including illegal campaigning, liquor distribution, cash movement, or misuse of social media, will invite stringent action. The district police appealed to the public, political parties, and candidates to strictly follow election rules and cooperate with law enforcement.
