Also at retirement you only really get 25% tax free and the rest gets paid as taxable monthly installments. Would you rather have: 1) £1m tax free cash via growing post tax income (some of which you can still invest tax free and grow) using a stocks and shares ISA … You can access whenever (aka liquidity) Or … 2) a 2m pension you only get £260k tax free lump sum and £4500 per month (£54k a year). You can only access at 55 if SIPP or 65+ This is the question you should ask yourself then the rest is a personal decision!
