We did not always agree, but no one ever questioned his love for South Carolina or the fight he brought to every room he walked into. Today, we remember a hero who gave his life protecting others on July 13, 2024. Corey Comperatore, your courage and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Corey Comperatore was a husband, a dad, and a man of faith. He was the former Fire Chief of the Buffalo Township Volunteer Fire Company. On July 13, 2024, he died shielding his wife and daughters from bullets at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. He should have gone home. Instead, Secret Service failures cost him his life. We pressed Secret Service Director Kim Cheatle on those failures in a hearing on the Oversight Committee. She resigned the next day. Corey gave his life for the people he loved. His family deserves justice. We're not done asking questions.

A Swamp Fox and a proud member of the South Carolina Air National Guard, Graham will be remembered for his dedication to the great state of South Carolina and the United States. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew him.

When Lindsey Graham walked into a room, the gloves were off. He loved America, and he loved South Carolina. We didn't always agree, but he had my back when I needed it, and I had his. His fire and fighting spirit will live on forever.
