We are back home. We want to thank the SOLEIL @synchroSOLEIL for the nice beam and the PLEIADES team for their very efficient support!! we'll be back!

Beamtime is finished! We are cleaning up and packing...and get some rest! a bientot for a new adventure!

...eerything is back to normal...the finishing straight is ahead of us!

...INCIDENT... sudden blackout of all the computer screens which is running the experiment!! the video board is dead!!😱 will we have the time to measure the last spectrum??? you'll have to wait the next episode!!! tin..tin...

The last minute supsense: where is the Cl peak????????? it is not showing up! 😅

After some cleaning of the atomiser, we start a new sample: Au NPs diluted in water+NaCl...only 9 hours left before the end of the beamtime, some of us starts to be stressed !

...and hypothesis are already under discussion !

Santa was a bit early this year...already nice results under the chrsitmas tree 😀

We have now more than 5 Gb of data to analyze...and still 12 hours to go!

And when the beam comes back, experimentalists are happy and can drink coffee !

This morning, the beam stopped... for 2hours... because of a very short lowering of electrical power. Some of the pumps stopped, the cooling system of the monochromator also, and more surprisingly, the undulator gap changed... In total 4 hours lost before acquiring data again

We are currently measuring a very high resolution spectrum of the 3d electrons of Bromine atoms. It will take us more than 5 hours... A very useful link about x-ray properties of the elements: henke.lbl.gov/optical_consta… …
