@klaasm67 Historically Ukraine is Russian. Ukraine is being used by other powers for their own benefit. The entire war generally speaking on the Russian side of things has been pretty merciful. If Putin wanted to it could have all been over very quickly. Sad people still die & taxes stolen

@ConsulofRome_ Ancient Romans understood if they traced their bloodline far back enough it would be Greek. They admired the Greeks so much so they learned how to speak and write Greek and adopted their way of life — culturally and deities. Una faccia, una razza.

The Romans of Caesar’s generation had a great affinity for the Greek speaking east. They all spoke Greek and claimed descent from Ancient Greeks. The idea that Caesar had more in common with a Frankish king (whom he’d consider a barbarian) than a fellow Roman in Constantinople is ridiculous.
Trvthfool@inner_heaven

@nonregemesse Thinking oneself as Roman does not a Roman make, the Roman empire died with Christianity anyways. Charlemagne was closer to Caesar than any Basileus ever was

@Globalstats11 Macedonian phalanx is Greek as was King Phillip II and Alexander the Great — not sure why you put that flag. Also the Janissaries were Greek boys stripped from their parents at a very young age and brainwashed into submission. They later used Serbs, Albanians and other balkans.

@ottomanenglish How can Greeks be Turks if the Greeks predate them? Everywhere they dig in Turkey they find Greek artifacts. Your entire tourism industry is reliant on Greek history. Also ask yourself what language, Gods, and culture the Romans followed/used. You are just a sad troll, smile bud!

@izmirlimamoglu Maybe because everything in your border that has any historical significance is European (primarily Greek) in origin — as is the Galata Tower. Not to mention the €21 billion in aid the EU has sent you. Perhaps it’s acknowledgment of the truth.

@cagan_oyun @heritage_abroad It is alright to be Turkish and proud. I am a supporter of healthy nationalism. Though, I find it irritating when your people have a problem with others (particularly Greeks) doing the same. Do not let jealousy consume you my friend. Give credit where it’s due. Cheers.

@cagan_oyun @heritage_abroad History is well documented. Not sure where you came up with such absurd claims, but to each their own. Also, Istanbul is a Greek word as well! You critique me, while you reference Byzantium with the word “Istanbul” which was only used in 1930 and onwards. Facts matter!

@jemapelleeve You should see how they treat the culture in Universities (Canadian). All history books credit the Greeks for a plethora of disciplines still in use today, yet they tear every major historical figure’s character down.

@poirazis In a perfect world every Greek would benefit from peace with Turkey. Unfortunately, they have ambitions and it involves stripping everything away — they even claim Greek culture as their own. What makes you think they won’t do the same with your lands. Cyprus is proof.

@poirazis Greece went bankrupt because we bailed out German and French banks (proof recently came out in Epstein files). The Greek people sweat for the rest of the EU. Mind you we are the only country that never saw reparations from WW2. The arms race is defensive, it has been reactionary!

@BBifk77348 @frax47 @ZulfiKarSinemin Why do you mock Europe? All you people do is keep applying for EU membership. Europe is the standard, always has been. Your Lira is worthless and your economy isn’t looking so good. Seems like you want EU nations to bail you out. And you never gave €21 billion back.

Greece and Armenia receive aid from all of Europe and America, while the Turks always exist alone, maintaining their existence without assistance. This is a praiseworthy strength of the Turkish nation.

@ZulfiKarSinemin Despite the word “Dolma” being Turkish— the origins of the dish are not. There is evidence of food being wrapped since ancient Greece often referred to as “thria”. Greeks have their version of Dolmades. But if you are claiming that the dish is Turkish you are sadly mistaken.

Yogurt comes from the Turkish verb "yogurmak" (to knead), dolma from the Turkish verb "dolmak" (to fill), and döner from the Turkish verb "dönmek" (to turn). They are all original Turkish dishes, and you are the thief!

@ZulfiKarSinemin Greek Yogurt is different to Turkish in that it is thicker and creamier due to heavy straining; Greeks call this “Stragisto”. Just because your language has names of dishes doesn’t mean they are yours!
