@soulsbrne If it makes you feel less alone on this god-forsaken app I'd hang every man who complains about feminism with the guts of every queer who uncritically supports BDSM with no further psychological and sociological analysis on why people develop an affinity to it

Except this is not what studying looks like, and I am sick and tired of the internet pretending that it does. Let me tell y'all something. Studying is maddening, okay? It is a pursuit of fanatically trying to understand something that you, for some inexplicable reason cannot seem to move on from. It is the single most devastating as well as rewarding thing that you can take up, IF you are truly trying to get something done. Devastating since at the extreme, it is THE Most lonely undertaking a human can take up. You will drown yourself in texts that were authored far before your bloodline existed, in thoughts that make no damn sense to anyone but to you, and you cannot explain them to those few who are willing to listen because you are not sure about them yourself. Speaking of thoughts - the bastards that they are. I am convinced that they are the only entity in the world that moves faster than the speed of fucking light. And for a mind that's fanatic enough, it is a struggle to keep a hold of the freight-train that ravages through you every time you encounter something new. And the cruel part? The name of the game is to hold on to the single thought that you have as a thousand more flood in. To give it the time that it deserves, the patience that it needs, but oh well, there's a thousand more that are demanding the very same. You try and write it down, because it helps, but what happens when your hands cannot match your brain? You go insane. You try and distract yourself, "Maybe I am tripping, it's not that deep." NO IT IS THAT FUCKING DEEP. But when it all comes together, when those thousand thoughts do indeed get processed, when it all forms ONE beautiful symphony that we call a body of work, the brink of insanity suddenly seems worth reaching and staying at. So no. Studying is not all about having a Starbucks coffee with a MacBook that has cute PDFs open, or a stack of messy books, or neatly written notes that are Pinterest-worthy, or a dimly lit room with motherfuckers dressed in the most immaculate fashion that they can find trying to talk about their experiences. And I am so done with the internet trying to make it that fucking way. FIGHT ME.

you'll never regret studying

@thebutterknife @femmvamuddecel @yolkedyassey @nouisyorkk That's great, I wonder how much of it is environmental (eg. your "favourite" foods are those you had during your childhood). Which would put into question the parenting of those who end up with prepackaged and precooked crap as favourite food

@femmvamuddecel @yolkedyassey @nouisyorkk My kid has it due to autism and it is very much centered around like ten foods I make from scratch at home. He’s learning to make those recipes himself now at 16. He’s also getting a little better at expanding his “outside foods.” 😭

@Cr7Godbrand You wrote all of this to still have to add caveats like "in some cases" and "in some contexts" for the wealthy women Which just means wealthy men could, and only some wealthy women could Nice try at class reductionism though

They oversimplify history to push a narrative, but the reality is more complex. Voting Rights in the past were mostly tied to property and class, not just gender. Voting, for example, was often based on household ownership. That means many men couldn’t vote either, because they didn’t own property. It wasn’t “all men had power,” it was a small group of people who did. In some cases, single women and widows who owned property could vote. So the idea that women were universally banned from participation isn’t entirely accurate. The bigger divide was economic status. The same applies to education and work. Most men weren’t living comfortably while women suffered. The majority of men were poor farmers, laborers, or soldiers doing physically demanding and dangerous work. Life was hard for almost everyone. On finances, women did have access to bank accounts in certain contexts. The issue with credit was tied to legal responsibility. In many systems, a husband was liable for his wife’s debt, so institutions required his approval. That wasn’t just random discrimination, it was tied to how liability laws worked at the time. Over time, laws changed to remove these restrictions and give women full financial independence, including access to credit and contracts. Those changes were also driven by economic needs, like expanding the workforce, not just social pressure. And women forget how different life was back then. A hundred years ago, there weren’t office jobs and remote work. Most work was physical and survival-based. Society wasn’t structured around comfort, it was structured around necessity. The bottom line is this: history isn’t a simple story of men having everything and women having nothing. Most people, including most men, had very limited power. What changed over time was the system itself, not just who benefited from it.

@vampsob The point was artificial scarcity, to improve profits of the game. Marketing and monetisation My guess is they'll eventually also monetise trading post tokens (which they partly already do with expansion editions) once they add this to the trading post

Sooo what’s the point of even making something “limited” in the first place then? Whats the point of having things be “rare” if everything just ends up on the trading post or vendors anyways?

@yavanikashah As a result you have the "calm, logical and analytical" gender that punches a wall ir destroys a keyboard because they lost a League of Legends match, which is several times more emotional than any luteal phase Alas we have to pretend just because they don't cry

@yavanikashah Men (as a demographic, commonly, not all) have devised and self-perpetuated the idea that emotions are weak or illogical, and thus repressing lr not even developing them is positive This is evidently biologically inviable, as everyone has hormones, specially testosterone

Hot take as a woman who actually has really wholesome female friendships: male friendships are kind of… insane. two men can hang out for 4 hours, say maybe 17 total words, share a bag of chips, send each other one stupid reel, and go home like “great catching up bro.” no emotional recap. no post-hangout analysis. no “did I say something weird when I laughed?” they can go 6 months without talking, then meet again and immediately pick up the exact same joke from 2017. women meanwhile will do a full psychological autopsy on a slightly delayed reply. I’m not even judging. I’m just observing a level of emotional minimalism that feels both deeply confusing and… kind of powerful.

@takhsick Oh yeah I know, I was joking about reclaiming I have a mage called "Magiccoochie" and a priest called "Voidcoochie" And coochie is a full, properly spelled blatant vulgar slang (no matter how harmlessly funny I find it), no shortening like fgt Blizzard is just selectively odd

@Shirinsmit You realise 1999-2004 means your main formative years are the mid to late 2010s? Which is already post-social media brainrot Late 80s and early to mid 90s are the only ones that experienced this brief mix

Blizz’s treatment of the Horde in Silvermoon is like Canada’s multiculturalism. Wyt people see the physical presence of nonwyt bodies as multicultural while suppressing and denying their cultural presence. Flying Horde sails/banners mean nothing if Horde cultures aren’t present.

@Krexxal @thundahstahm I can see rogue grey (akin to mist/smoke? Because of stealth), and obviously paladin yellow, even if I wouldn't like such change But changing mage out of blue??!! It's perfect both in universe (blue Dragonflight magic), and in general class fantasy (blue robes/hats are classic)
