A small Hindu shrine (ಮುರಿನ್ ಕಟ್ಟೆ) that had earlier been removed during National Highway construction was rebuilt this morning by local Hindus after receiving permission from Highway authorities.
However, the structure was allegedly demolished again later by Muslims. When police arrived to protect the shrine and maintain order, they too were reportedly attacked.

I don’t know what’s to be happy about: Is it vicarious pleasure because talks were being held in Islamabad? Isn’t in our national interest to have an early end to the conflict? Male ugliness might not be as real a category as people think. I used to find men largely unattractive, and even my man felt unattractive to me in the beginning. I was probably too focused on his looks and found him a little strange, but over time I fell for him, and now I think he is the most beautiful man alive. Attractiveness is real, but it manifests in far stranger ways than people admit. A person can be extremely conventionally attractive and still evoke nothing in you. This is what we call performativeness, and in a broader sense, everything we do contains an element of performance. But from the standpoint of mate selection, there is a critical distinction. If a man is enacting gestures of love for his partner while simultaneously directing them toward an audience, it begins to fracture the authenticity of the act. The gesture is no longer purely for her; it is being mediated through the gaze of others. And at that point, what is being built is not an intimate bond, but a display.
A relationship that is constantly being externalised in this way starts to feel as though it exists for spectators rather than for the two people within it. Claiming a person as your own, in the quiet, serious sense, is entirely different from exhibiting acts of love for the sake of validation. One is rooted in depth and possession of meaning; the other risks becoming an aesthetic performance of something that is no longer fully lived.

I feel perpetually disconnected from almost every women.
Women are incredible, and I genuinely love them, but meeting each other at a certain level of depth and recognition feels rare. There is a kind of alignment I look for, an interior meeting point, and very few seem able to arrive there. Connection is not casual for me.
Most interactions seem to demand that I either lower my standards or reshape them into something more socially acceptable, and that always comes at a cost to my sense of self.
With men, it feels different. They seem capable of befriending almost anyone, moving through social spaces with far more ease. They do have standards, but they are often emotionally closed off, their inner world revealed only in front of a partner or, sometimes, a female friend.
