I need y'all to understand that fixed couples exist for a reason. not every actor wants to mix and match, and that should be respected instead of constantly demanded. and this whole “older pairs look bored/forced” take is so… narrow. they’ve been in the industry longer, they already know their boundaries, and they have a stable fanbase. they don’t need to push fanservice 24/7 to prove anything. their dynamic is just more settled, more private, and honestly more genuine. not everything has to look like the “honeymoon phase” forever for it to be real. and saying older pairs should mix and match so they don’t look “boring” is basically like saying long-term couples should switch partners just because they’re past the initial excitement… which sounds ridiculous when you actually think about it. if anything, respecting how different pairs choose to exist (loud, quiet, playful, lowkey) would save fandoms a lot of unnecessary discourse.
