Islam places great emphasis on kinship, compassion, dutifulness towards parents, the proper upbringing of children, and the preservation of family ties, regarding them as the cornerstone of a righteous and welfare-oriented society. In today’s fast-paced, materialistic, and increasingly individualistic world, strengthening the institution of the family has become more vital than ever before. The moral, spiritual, intellectual, and social development of the younger generation can only be ensured when homes are transformed into centres of learning, affection, trust, character formation and constructive dialogue. A distinguished delegation from the World Bank Headquarters, Washington D.C., visited Minhaj University Lahore and held a productive meeting with Prof. Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, Deputy Chairman Board of Governors, Minhaj University Lahore, and CEO, Al-Mawakhat Microfinance Company Limited. “Khudi” is the recognition of self and a means to attain the معرفة of Allah. At a ceremony in Lahore organized by the College of Sharia & Islamic Sciences, Prof. Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri emphasized that تزکیۂ نفس is essential for today’s youth. True success, he said, belongs to those who purify their inner self, as worship, education, and remembrance of Allah are only effective with a pure heart. He highlighted that love for the Prophet ﷺ is central to character building and spiritual elevation. Referring to Allama Iqbalؒ, he said Khudi represents self-awareness and personality development, and its realization leads to the recognition of Allah. He stressed that knowledge becomes meaningful only when connected with spiritual purification. He explained that knowledge has two aspects: external learning from books and internal knowledge gained through righteous company and remembrance of Allah. Without spirituality, knowledge remains mere information. Discussing modern challenges like Artificial Intelligence and global change, he noted that every era has a reformer. In this century, Sheikh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has played a key role in providing intellectual and religious guidance.
