Nature Cities

A new Nature Cities paper led by HKUST(GZ) Professor Zhiqing HONG, in partnership with JD Logistics and multiple universities, used IoT and AI to process 1.4 billion orders and 1.9 million couriers across 365 Chinese cities. The team found that cross-firm collaboration can cut last-mile emissions by up to 66.0% without slowing order growth. This industry-academia partnership underscores HKUST(GZ)'s strength in translating cutting-edge research into real-world climate solutions.
