The Ukrainian defense-industrial complex is today at a point where our expertise and technologies have become a global brand. But this status will not last forever. We have a unique window of opportunity to secure our niche in the global market. I said this today to the participants of the Defense Tech Export Forum. However, we must be honest: the free sale of weapons during the active phase of the war is impossible. This would not be understood either by our military personnel on the front line or by our Western partners, from whom we ourselves are requesting weapons. I believe that only what exists in sufficient surplus can be freely sold, such as maritime drones. We can also export weapons that are no longer widely used in our war but remain in demand in countries of Asia or Africa – for example, some long-range UAVs or early models of FPV drones. It is crucial to prevent the uncontrolled leakage of technologies. We must not allow unique Ukrainian developments to fall into enemy hands through the sale of finished products or the creation of dubious subsidiaries. The future of Ukraine’s defense industry lies in technological superiority. I called on manufacturers to focus now on the integration of artificial intelligence. The integration of AI and the development of domestic control systems is the only way to maintain our status as leaders in unmanned technologies.
