Lamont Roach vs William Zepeda Analysis & Prediction: This will be competitive, but Zepeda’s relentless pressure gives every lightweight not named Shakur Stevenson problems. I think he’s the faster fighter, the heavier puncher, the harder worker and that work rate takes over and prevails across 12 rounds. I’ve seen people say Roach just needs to copy Shakur’s blueprint. There’s one problem. Lamont Roach isn’t Shakur Stevenson. Shakur is a P4P elite counterpuncher. Roach may have early success with his timing, but I expect Zepeda to take control in the second half by attacking the body, maintaining his relentless output, and turning the fight into a war. I also think Zepeda learned a lot from the Stevenson defeat. A late stoppage (Rounds 9–12), with a barrage of body shots, is live if Roach fades.
