Another Kalshi hearing in AZ federal court, this time between CFTC and Arizona AG's office, but a similar outcome likely. Judge seems unmoved by CFTC arguments, and Kalshi arraignment on Monday seems likely. Court is in recess for 15 min and then judge will announce decision.

@ThereBeJudges I didn't mention any studies but I did write: "Conservatives have long accused the ABA of bias against Republican judicial nominees."

@WALLACHLEGAL My understanding was those categories (and particularly sports) would be covered but there was concern about what specifically naming types of contracts would avoid covering.

@nateraymond I got corrected on that one pretty quickly. Maybe I need to put it in tip of the tweet as well.

@WALLACHLEGAL That's correct, in my write up I tried to fudge that. He essentially didn't like the idea of IDing specific categories of contracts.

@nateraymond Source inside the courtroom indicates that judge did not actually say “sports, elections and entertainment related,” but only activities that require a license in Nevada (at least sports), and Judge Woodward said he’ll leave it to the parties to work out the language.

Update from Arizona: - Judge Liburdi is taking the matter under advisement. - He will issue a ruling late next week on Kalshi’s motion for preliminary injunction. - We will be back for Round 2 in any event when the CFTC files its motion for preliminary injunction next week.

What happens when an annoyed pro se litigant files judicial complaints against his judge alleging misconduct? The complaint is dismissed as meritless. All parties are anonymous. I wonder if a complaint against the Chief Judge is next!
