Jermaine Jenas talking about the betting odds for Ten Hag to be sacked before Christmas when he’s just been sacked whilst live on @talkSPORT is the funniest thing I’ve seen this week.

@Chellstromm Could’ve but it didn’t, it came from the howler. The only real debated starting spot in pre-game chat was the goalkeeper and starting Kepa in this game was always playing with fire and an accident waiting to happen from the sheets being announced, that’s on the manager.

@NathBlogsII That goal could've come from anywhere and anyhow. The problem is those phases of being under pressure ends when the front line is capable of being the release valve which was absent. We had opportunities to end the dominating phase but the ball just came back to City

Kepa at fault. Fine. But before we conceded City were absolutely dominating the ball in our final third and we didn't have a pacy outlet on the pitch neither a CF that could hold the ball under pressure if we went long. A horrendous position to be in a final

@DarrenArsenal1 They boxed out the ball into Rice & Zubi with that wall of 4. We needed to hit the long ball often and earlier rather than Kepa standing on it for minutes at a time. With hindsight Havertz at 9 was the play the way this game panned out.

If we were holding the ball with the keeper to draw them off, they didnt buy it, so when the keeper kicked it long we have to win the first ball and at least hold it up for the 2nd ball, we did neither. Tactics were terrible.

@gunnerblog @TheAthleticFC That Kepa performance was inevitable from the moment the team sheets were announced. He’s a player with history of getting overworked in this exact game. The moment he came rushing out of his area got nowhere near the ball and got booked sealed his fate.

@Adamskimyrenski @TheAFCPodcast It was 0-0 until Kepa dropped a catch on the goal line… 5 minutes after steaming out of his area, getting nowhere near the ball and getting booked.

That Kepa howler was the most obvious bit of foreshadowing from the moment the team sheets came out.

@GoonerViews Kepa was the most obvious howler waiting to happen for the last 10 minutes.

Within just 48 hours of the Tories refusing to sack Nick Timothy for his Islamophobic comments, the far-right is circulating a list of MPs “of foreign descent” trying to “silence” him. This is what happens when racism is normalised from the top: democratically elected representatives being told that we shouldn't be allowed to make decisions here at all, and even that we should leave the country. It’s a racist attack on our very democracy. Will Nick and his party condemn it?

I condemn in the strongest terms the overnight Iranian strike on a Qatari gas facility. We are working towards a swift resolution to the situation in the Middle East, in the best interests of the British people – because there is no question that ending the war is the quickest way to reduce the cost of living.

Sorry @EdwardJDavey I have stood up for you when @RoryStewartUK has attacked your “silly stunts” as he calls them because I know how hard it can be for smaller parties to get attention. But this is BS on a @Nigel_Farage scale. Nobody alive imagines that Churchill legend will wane because we see his face less on a banknote. And the public demand (inc I imagine many many LibDems) is for our nature and wildlife to be celebrated alongside our great humans. Leave the culture wars to the bullshitters who have nothing else to offer. These are really serious times. Be serious.

@YoungBobRB @SkyNews @BethRigby It’s not shitting on the country if it’s just stating facts. You saying “a navy with one of the greatest histories in the world” is a giveaway.

Anyone get fed up with the centre right just shitting on this country? And apparently they are supposed to be patriots. Do not make up this excuse that we have a poor military. No, we have a fantastic military, with one of the world’s greatest air forces in terms of technology and a navy with one of the greatest histories in the world. And you want to use that as an excuse because your senior membership cannot agree on a position on Iran.

Trump’s little ambassadors. All day long. Standing up for the draft dodger who said our forces avoided the front line. Campaigning on grooming gangs while ignoring the rape claims against Trump. Taking top dollar to slag off the UK at every turn. If that is patriotism I’d love to know what treason looks like.
