@ITheCursedOne @l_laiel @NathanJT @0hour1 We only think it’s rare because we don’t test for it often. When we do test for these things on a wide scale the results are always that whatever we think is rare is way more common than expected. People who had no idea about their chromosomes and had no reason to find out.

It's intentionally obtuse as there are effectively 4 possible conditions and only 2 affirmative choices for an answer.

@YouGov The result of this survey would be 94%+ if it had been made clear that “transgender women” are men.

The IOC has said that women's sport at the Olympics will only be open to biological females Our most recent transgender attitudes survey found that 74% of Britons thought trans women should not be allowed to take part in women's sporting events Link in replies

@YouGov Hang on, that's the actual question? And you think it's statistically sound, really? For example: *I* believe "transgender" women should be allowed to take part in men's sporting events. So which of the two affirmative choices is mine?

@fifi_dontsackme @ITheCursedOne @0hour1 I'm not assuming anything, I'm reading Imane's own words: Q: "To be clear, you have a female phenotype but possess the SRY gene, an indicator of masculinity." IK: "Yes, and it's Natural."

@NathanJT @ITheCursedOne @0hour1 *you assume and you also assume she has some sort of androgen-sensitivity along with the SRY gene. A lot of assumptions for testing that has never gone as predicted when done at wide scale .

@fifi_dontsackme @ITheCursedOne @0hour1 No, it will provide a safe/fair environment for women to take part in the Olympics without fear of coming across an opponent who, particularly in a contact sport, who has had all the advantages of the SRY gene, such as Imane Khelif.

@NathanJT @ITheCursedOne @0hour1 Yeah kinda my point. Thanks. So anyways this kind of testing will produce interesting results, which will be… interesting.

@fifi_dontsackme @ITheCursedOne @0hour1 Well, quite clearly Imane's medical record are private so your original claim "How do you know the genetic make up of khalif before she’s done the test" isn't otherwise answerable, which is convenient.

@NathanJT @ITheCursedOne @0hour1 Are you asking me if the lack of evidence is evidence on a thread about complex genetic issues and testing? Seriously lol.

@NathanJT @ITheCursedOne @0hour1 What do you call it if you do something once and based on that you cant compete in that category ever? A ban.

@fifi_dontsackme @ITheCursedOne @0hour1 Ask yourself this: If Imane was "waiting on a ruling by the IOC, due in March" before deciding on participating in LA'28, do you honestly believe that it's just an open and shut case, there's no 5-ARD issue to cause ineligibility? And let's not forget the prior failed tests 🙄

@NathanJT @ITheCursedOne @0hour1 How do you know the genetic make up of khalif before she’s done the test lol. You going on vibes & fake news? What you gunna do when your fav petite womens track star fails? Because that’s the kind of thing that happens with widespread genetic and chromosome testing. Curveballs.

@NathanJT @ITheCursedOne @0hour1 It’s common parlance. They would be banned from competing in women’s sport. Which is what we are discussing here, womens sport, or so I thought.

@NathanJT @ITheCursedOne @0hour1 The source Reduxx cites don’t mention SRY either, and even if it does the new ICO rules don’t blanket ban everyone with the SRY gene obviously.

@fifi_dontsackme @ITheCursedOne @0hour1 Oh and from the IOC: "Eligibility for the female category is to be determined in the first instance by SRY gene screening to detect the absence or presence of the SRY gene." CAIS etc are covered as exemptions BECAUSE they've had no anabolic enhancement due to testosterone.

@fifi_dontsackme @ITheCursedOne @0hour1 SRY isn't a chromosome, it's a gene. Specifically the one that only males have and functionally triggers the changes that give them their advantages in sports.

@0hour1 Nothing was ever confirmed about them yet. Only hear say. Only thing we really know is she/he said they aren't trans and are a woman.
