RHP Eliazar Dishmey is another name being promoted to Double-A Pensacola, per sources. Dishmey has been spectacular for Beloit, tossing to a 2.14 ERA in 33.2 IP. Great fastball and curveball plus slider and change. He’s allowed just one earned run in his last 16.2 IP. #Marlins

Infielder Juan Matheus is being promoted to Double-A Pensacola. Matheus, who was part of the Ryan Weathers trade, is slashing .261/.352/.471 at High-A. Good patience and great pull-side power packed into a small frame. #Marlins

CODY MORISSETTE WALK-OFF GRAND SLAM! 💣 The Jumbo Shrimp tied it in the ninth before Morissette ended it with a walk-off grand slam in the tenth. Jacksonville has now won 14 of their last 19. Game of the year for the Shrimp.

Talk to ‘em Karson! 🗣️ Karson Milbrandt sets a new career high in strikeouts with 12 in 6 shutout innings tonight. He has a 40/5 K/BB in four starts this month. ERA is currently at 1.06. #Marlins

Karson Milbrandt shouldn’t see another day in Pensacola. 6IP, 3H, 0R, 2BB, 12K (career high) Scoreless streak up to 23 innings. Season ERA is now 1.06. He could very well be pitching for the Fish at some point this season.

Bradley Blalock has been pulled with an apparent injury. The depth gets thinner and thinner.

The Marlins have long been known for developing pitchers throughout the organization, but this year, they are racking up strikeouts more frequently than Minor League Baseball has ever seen before. dlvr.it/TSYXvr #marlins #miami #FightinFish

After sweeping the doubleheader today, the Jupiter Hammerheads sit in first place with a 21-14 record. They are currently on a four game winning streak and are 8-2 in their last 10 games. On top of that, they own a +44 run differential, while the next closest team in the division sits at just +9. Pitching has been dominant on all cylinders. Carter Johnson is heating up at the plate, Dameivi Tineo was dominant tonight, and on top of that, Elier Morillo owns an absurd 48% strikeout rate with 38 strikeouts in just 18 innings. There is a lot of talent down in Jupiter right now. @FishOnFirst @FOFProspects

During his first year in the Marlins organization, Jack Ralston has completely reshaped his pitch usage, and the results have followed in every single aspect. dlvr.it/TSVYVV #marlins #miami #FightinFish

Edward Cabrera’s velocity is down across the board to start the season, most noticeably his fastball and changeup. More notably, the movement on his offspeed is also down across the board. He is throwing his changeup 33% of the time so far this year compared to 26% last season. He has also given up 15 barrels. To put that into perspective, he gave up 32 barrels over the entirety of last season. The differences in velocity and movement aren’t huge but definitely draws some attention. Cabrera’s arm angle is down three degrees from last season (36 to 33). It was 45 degrees when he debuted in 2021, but has gotten lower and lower every year. He came back from that slight UCL tear that kept him out a few weeks last September and was throwing some of the hardest stuff we’ve ever seen out of him. Which makes you wonder if he’s dealing with the effects of the same injury, or if the Cubs are changing a few things.

Unfortunately, it felt like the Edward Cabrera regression was inevitable. We’re seeing that tonight. Stuff just isn’t there
