I have no particular animus against Burnham, but if you're a sitting MP and look around at your actually eligible colleagues and think "none of these people could do any better as PM" then that should probably ring some alarm bells about the quality of the PLP.

Any assessment of the jacobins that does not stress they ended slavery the moment they got power, and forced through civil rights for jewish and black people and actors (!), that they opposed the girondinist war etc is simply unserious. Their policy track record was unbelievable.

Apparently @Wren_Poltics thinks the best use of their time right now is to continue to harass @Ana_Zardoshti while their family members are being bombed. Actually rancid and deeply Israeli coded behaviour - the fact the CEC election is over yet they still feel the need to attack shows what kind of vicious little person they are. I’d have reposted them directly but they blocked me for calling them out for defending their racist mates but you can see them in the comments of Anahita’s post below.

I can't imagine anyone better suited to represent the people of Islington than Amu Gib, who went on hunger strike for Palestine while unlawfully imprisoned without a fair trial, putting their body and mind through more than any of us can imagine - in the fight for liberation, opposing a genocide our government directly supports. I am beyond proud of our community and @IslingtonIndep for recognising the historic significance of this moment and the precedent this campaign sets.

We keep being told that the issues with the party are because of a lack of staff. It’s the excuse for why the website doesn’t work, the voting system was broken on launch and the lack of timely communication. But as I explain in my interview at ALDA with @InacioVieira, that excuse doesn’t hold up when you’ve chosen to not let anyone help you, or to hire more staff. No one forced the party to not hire people or get more volunteers involved. It was a deliberate decision by the current leadership to prioritise maintaining control over doing a decent job of setting the party up.

How on earth could Noor know that the election is on a knife edge? Sounds like maybe one slate in this election has access to data they shouldn’t. Hopefully @cllrbegum will let us know what these early indications are so we can all rest easy that everything is above board.
