Below is the underlying template I use for my first session of the week, which is a lower body strength and power session: A1 - Power A2 - Power B1 - Strength C1 - Accessory C2 - Accessory C3 - Accessory In the comments is the session I did today.

Really interesting, insightful easy-to-understand piece on running data in football. Metrics like high speed running distance and sprint distance are only a part of the story. For anyone looking to understand sports science through a football sense, this is worth your time.

Welcomed the Presentation TY Future Leaders Class of 2026 to UPMC Nowlan Park last week, getting them certified as GAA coaches so they can get out on the ground and coach in their clubs 👏💪

Superb Show up and play, like it should be
Nathen Culleton@NathenCulleton

@movementcoachkm This month in Kilkenny we had 5 regional centres of adaptive games. 31 clubs involved, over 200 U15 players. Mixing of rural and urban clubs, some clubs had 3 others 23, venues evened out so that plenty of 8 aside games for all. Show up and play, nothing else to it.

Finally!! The program of games has to change. There is too much training, not enough games, not enough mixing of clubs (rural v urban, exposure of players from big clubs etc), too much adult imagined championships, too long a season (which I believe is hurting participation and multi sport for several sports including Gaelic Games itself) and finally play more in summer. It has become ridiculous that there is less and less sport played in summer now and players do nothing for weeks and months only train and then go to school in September and have club, school (often multi sport) all together in 2 months of absolute madness. Much of this started with clubs and then counties accommodating their (obviously good) player who’s parents went away on holidays and managements unwilling to play without them. All coming from over zealous coaching and a desire to win adult type championship. Where as if there was a program of games up to u16 where players still had championship but at the right time of the year an the rest of the season got pocketed with various tournaments an blitzes of all sorts of shapes and sizes exposing players to different forms of the game and opposition the standard of the game would rise and the participation levels would rise. The counties that embrace this first will have 15-20 years of success before others catch up from bottom to top levels
The GAA@officialgaa

Would an adapted games programme that included more small-sided competitive matches have a positive impact on youth GAA? Let us know what you think by participating in an online survey. #GAABelong gaa.ie/article/public…
