No one disputes the search and need for meaning. Religions are there to try (and fail) to answer 'why' question of life. But the bottom line is, they can't answer any other question about life itself, and how humans came to be. (Who? there's no one person), What (genetics), where (Africa), when (260k years ago). How (evolution). The religious answers of all those questions, would be null and void and have zero use now. #Atheist

@NathrixOfficial Humans were not well off before religion, were not well off after, it was rhetorical humanity will always be doing badly not because religion ever existed but because of human nature.

@JasonYoung31645 Religion excuses human nature while blocking the very tools science, evidence, critical thinking that actually improve it. Pre-religion? Tribal violence. With religion? Crusades, inquisitions, theocracies, and modern extremism. Post-religion progress? Longer lives, less poverty,

My take: Religion is the worst thing to happen to humanity, it creates enmity, division and also it plays a big part in most wars that takes so many Lives. Religion is not in any way important to humanity, in fact it is Very dangerous to humanity.

@TheWanderer8144 Religion doesn't restrain the beast it often unleashes it through division, guilt, and holy wars. Humanity's real progress comes from reason, empathy, and evidence, not fairy tales. We don't need celestial lies to be decent.

@NathrixOfficial There could be! If the cults weren't weaponized by the greed of tyrants. While true man don't need the guidance of a false belief system, It seems to keep them from eating each other ! So ? Some need to be lied too that they don't become the beast with in us all!

There's no progress for us with religion.

@NathrixOfficial There is also the cosmological arguments, the way it creates an answer to human evil and suffering, the positive affect it has had on society (i.e. ending of death games and infanticide, creation of the scientific method, hospitials, charities...).

Ban Religion.

@FaithPhoenix123 Nice list, but cosmological arguments are just I don't know, therefore God, evil/suffering has better secular explanations, and those positive effects ignore centuries of religious wars, inquisitions, and opposition to science/medicine.
