The power situation may get worse as gas suppliers threaten to halt supply to thermal plants over debt owed by power generation companies.

Today, I performed the groundbreaking of a 100MW Power Plant and an LNG Processing Plant in Edo State, another bold step by my administration toward energy independence and industrial growth. Power is the backbone of development, and our administration is committed to building the infrastructure that will attract investors, create jobs, and grow our economy. This project reflects the confidence investors have in Edo State and the business friendly environment we are creating. My administration will continue to support investments that bring opportunity, prosperity, and sustainable development to our people. #PracticalGovernance #SHINEagenda #ANewEdoHasRisen

I've been offline since i made this tweet in the morning and i just came here now to see the comment section and the quotes. I made an honest mistake of the generating capacity of the power plant here in Redemption city and i sincerely apologize for that. The accurate generating capacity is 25MW as opposed to the initial capacity of 3-4000 i earlier put out. I'm sorry for the misleading figure. That wasn't my intention. However, it still doesn't take away the fact that the national grid is a total embarrassment. If an independent community could generate 25MW and the nation's primary source of power is struggling between the range of 2-3MW to cater to the population of 200M+ people, isn't that a shame? Redemption City alone- 25MW generating capacity. Nigeria of 200M+ people- Struggling with 2-3MW. @NationalGridNg, you should be ashamed. Tell your principals that they're a bunch of failures. Over 60years of independence and you're still struggling to generate 3MW of electricity?
