The ribbon cutting from yesterday’s re-opening celebration of the end of the Santa Cruz Wharf! The person cutting the ribbon is Norm Daly, a City of Santa Cruz employee who was one of two people that went into the water when the partial collapse happened on December 23, 2024.

@susiebright The reason given was a problem at a substation by Dominican. Seems like maybe more to the reason as they said it was 3 seperate outages that went out within a couple of minutes of each other and they all came on at the same time

If I’m dreaming, please don’t wake me… My view as I was laying in bed last night as I’m pet sitting in the hills above Soquel. The bright lights are from across the bay as clouds and fog were moving in. To add to the ambience, there was a large orange cat cuddled up against my side and a 6 month old, 50 lb Rottweiler puppy gently snoring on the rug at the foot of the bed.
