@Headteacherchat I’m 4 days. I get the same PPA as full time staff so plan for 5 days and do all reports and patents evenings too.

Anonymous query: If a teacher is on a four-day timetable, is it reasonable for an HLTA or cover supervisor to take the class on day five, given that all the lessons are already planned?

@Hasan_Merali Charity shops also a big hit with my son when he was younger. Bonus than he could choose something for £1 and think it was the best day ever 🤣

Toddlers don’t need Disney… they need Home Depot at 6am 😅 To them, it is a theme park. Drawers to open, lights to stare at, rugs to touch. While we chase big plans, they find joy in the simplest things. They don’t need more. They see more. Maybe the lesson isn’t how to entertain them… it’s how to see the world like they do. Joy isn’t complicated. We just make it that way. VC: mombrainbrooke on TT

I was just reading about the cases of invasive invasive meningococcal disease in Kent. I noticed this early symptoms list and thought it may be worth sharing... "The onset of illness is often sudden and early diagnosis and treatment with antibiotics are vital. Early symptoms, which may not always be present, include: - a rash that does not fade when pressed with a glass - sudden onset of high fever - severe and worsening headache - stiff neck - vomiting and diarrhoea - joint and muscle pain - dislike of bright lights - very cold hands and feet - seizures - confusion/delirium - extreme sleepiness/difficulty waking This came from this page where there is more... gov.uk/government/new…

'Parents don't realise that nurseries are day orphanages and warehouses for their children' Child psychotherapist Erica Komisar says parents are being bullied and misled into believing that daycare is good for their children, aruging that nurseries are effectively 'day orphanages' that cannot provides babies with the same safety and security provided by their parents. @EricaKomisarCSW @NatashaFeroze

There is no mention here of rashes in the armpit or groin. They were the only rashes with my son. I only found that out after he had died, by looking at his body.

@NattySo2 Holding it for a bit is often necessary in life is the point I’m making. It is not always possible to go the moment you need to. Schools should prepare kids for life beyond school.

@NattySo2 If you work at a call centre, they time how long you go for. If you’re a coach driver, you can’t stop whenever you feel like it. When kids are at the cinema, they often hold it in through choice because they don’t want to miss the movie. I could go on…

A woman has said she was "failed" by Travelodge after a sex attacker was given a key to her hotel room - where he assaulted her while she was asleep. 29 year old Kyran Smith lied to staff by telling them he was the victim's boyfriend - and was given her room number and key card. The woman - who can't be named for legal reasons - reported the attack to the hotel, which offered her a £30 refund. Travelodge later admitted this was an inappropriate response.
