I had a wonderful market last weekend in Aberdeen. All my sculpted mugs and plates found new homes, but I still have some sgraffito mugs and little ceramic birds, now listed on my website :)

Remember the birdy sweaters I designed three years ago? They are back! I have come up with some new designs including guillemots, razorbills, curlews and even an emperor moth 🦋

Buff-breasted Sandpiper at Donmouth last night! A wader I'd been wanting to see for so long, and what better place to find it than at the local patch.

The sgraffito mugs take the longest to carve, inspired by my love for the three auks I've had the privilege to study - Puffins, Guillemots, and Razorbills!

Making sgraffito pieces is slow, messy, and tedious but totally worth it when they come out of the kiln and the slips and glazes have done their job 😊

I originally decided to make one of my little seabirds because I wanted one for myself, but I quickly fell in love with making them. Because each one is hand sculpted and painted, every piece is unique in its own little way, yet together they make lovely flocks.

I have been trying to make time for pottery alongside my PhD. I did my first official market last weekend at the Bowhouse. I was very nervous before but it was so lovely to speak to so many people about my work! I have added a few leftover pieces to my new website 🐧
