Some cracking pictures from one of our Ops team from the Isle of May a couple of months ago. The Isle of May is one of our National Nature Reserves off Scotland's East Coast, providing habitat for a wonderful variety of wildlife. tinyurl.com/cjf4y2m3

A great team day out at Flanders Moss National Nature Reserve on Tuesday. This is one of the largest remaining intact raised bogs in Britain. We learned about the history of the bog, plans for the future and helped the local team with some birch removal. tinyurl.com/yuxa8kkb

Morning the highly elusive male Red-backed Shrike remains on the Isle of May for its third day. For a shrike, it’s hard to see!

Lovely ☀️day for another #dragonfly survey at Flanders Moss. My highest count of Four-spotted Chasers since 2020. Dead common, but still beautiful to watch as they fly, perch, fly, perch, and repeat (often returning to the same perching spot). By July, there won't be many left.

The sound of silence. The Isle of May tern colonies are empty at the moment as this video shows, but why? We have started looking into it as the blog explains; isleofmaynnr.wordpress.com
