@WolveJay Yeah, I don't do much furry stuff anymore. I go to 1 or 2 cons a year. When I hang out with my furry friends, we rarely put on fursuits anymore. Sure, it's part of me, but there is so much more to life then being a furry.

Honestly it's why I don't even consider myself part of the fandom. If trying to put numbers on it, it'd look something like 90% car guy, outdoorsman, shooter, hunter, general functioning member of society, with this one weird little hobby I can enjoy when the time and place is right. Too many people try to build their entire personality around a single interest and that's where sycophantism comes from.

I think I'm a unicorn in this fandom. My existence doesn't purely revolve around AD, VRChat, gaming, cars, or my gender/sexuality. I need friends who may enjoy that stuff, but also vibe with farm life, fursuit making, beekeeping, mead making, camping, hiking, kayaking, etc.

@RykerShep I joined the fandom at 33. Made so many friends along the way. After 40 it's harder since everyone is a different wavelength so I only look for those over 30 to befriend.
