Thanks to Peter Marber, PhD. for the opportunity to present at Harvard University's Hedge Fund course, always a fun and satisfying experience.

At Nautilus, we approach markets through evidence-based analysis, drawing, whenever possible, from three primary sources: transactional data (price), fundamental inputs, and positioning information. That said, we’re not afraid to incorporate a measure of subjective pattern recognition, along with a few grains of experience.
An old mentor of mine, a very successful FX trader, used to show me charts stripped of their x and y labels. Sometimes they were even flipped or transposed. The goal wasn’t analysis; it was instinct. He wanted a simple, immediate reaction: sideways, up, or down.
“Don’t think too much,” he’d say.
So here’s the exercise: What’s your call on this one? Don’t cheat—your answer has to be immediate.
