@Naveendnt @KureSerhilder My reference to “natives” is the inhabitants of Iran. The “Meccan invaders” called it “Fars”! In the Avesta and the Achaemenid period, when the unified Iranian Empire was founded it was Airyana=Eran=Iran and it has remained so to the present day.

@KureSerhilder They use the term “Persian”, because it is the name Westerners know better than “Iranian” and it’s associated with the ancient Persian Empire as a pre-Islamic civilization. Iran is a name the natives have use for millennia. This is similar to the example of Egypt versus “Misr”.
